Paçoca de amendoim, also known as Paçoquinha, is a traditional Brazilian sweet made with just three simple ingredients: peanuts, sugar and a pinch of salt. It is especially popular in the Southeast region of Brazil and loved throughout the country.
The name paçoca, pronounced pah-sso-kah, comes from the Indigenous Tupi word posok, meaning “to crumble” or “to smash”. This name reflects the traditional way of preparing the sweet, by crushing the ingredients together using a mortar and pestle.
